PMS and a painful period can include the 'holy trinity' of symptoms: headaches, nausea and dull, aching to violently painful cramps. The latter can cause women to double over in pain, from the spasms in the abdominal and lower back area. Emotions can make us feel fragile at this time, making cramps feel worse than they normally might.

How to Use
Gently massage Kavana's Marjora Perfume Poem as often as needed, over the lower back and abdominal area, starting a week before your period, to help support you with the pain associated with PMS and period cramps.
Meadowfoam seed oil (Limnanthes alba): Meadowfoam seed oil is a waxy oil, similar to Jojoba. It is non-comodogenic (doesn't block pores), contains over 98% long chain fatty acids, making it extremely stable and highly resistant to oxidation and heat, though it may solidify a bit in cold conditions.
It's non-greasy texture, helps lock in moisture and prevent trans-epidermal water loss, helping your skin form a barrier to lock in moisture and deliver nutrients deep into your epidermis. It helps bind fragrance and keep it stable, making it excellent for aromatherapy applications, like Perfume Poems.
Contains powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidants, including Vitamin C and Vitamin E.
Rice Bran oil (Oryza Sativa): Prized by Japanese women for centuries for it's hydrating and brightening benefits, rice bran oil (RBO) is also a skin softening superstar. RBO contains some phytochemicals (plant chemicals) such as tocotrienols, tocopherols, phytosterols, polyphenols, squalene and powerful anti-oxidant gamma oryzanol, that support skin's health.
The high level of Vitamins E and B, omega 9 and a rich array of fatty acids, beta-carotene, CoQ10 and lycopene, help shield the skin from environmental and internal stressors. It is not winterized, meaning, it may get cloudy in cold temperatures. If this happens, simply heat it gently in hot water till cloudiness disappears.
Plai (Zingiber cassumunar): This uniquely powerful, anti-inflammatory and analgesic essential oil is an effective essential oil for cancelling cramps (source). A member of the ginger family, plai is distilled from the fresh roots of Thai ginger. It is native to Thailand, Indonesia and India and has been used in traditional Thai massage for years, to combat joint and muscle pain (source).
Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana): The anti spasmodic, analgesic, calmative/sedative properties of marjoram essential oil, make it the perfect accompaniment to Plai essential oil, in the quest to get painful cramps under control. Valued since ancient times, it's leaves and branches have been found in Egyptian burial sites dating back to Roman times(source) and thanks to it's chemical components of linalyl acetate, linalool, eucalyptol, and β-caryophyllene, modern studies have shown it to significantly reduce cramp pain, in combination with oils of clary sage and lavender. Linden Blossom Absolute: For the woman who is simply overwhelmed by all the things she has to do in a given day and stressed by not being able to find enough time to rest and do nothing in, Linden blossom's soft floral scent is a sensory escape. It's no surprise that honey produced by bees attracted to these fragrant flowers, is valued for it's sedative properties (source) and it's anti-spasmodic properties can also be helpful when ingested as a tea* (source). (*To be avoided during pregnancy)
Sweet Orange (Citrus aurantium dulcis): The essential oil of this warm, round aroma has a joy about it that can bring cheer to even the dullest of cramped days. Anti-spasmodic and mildly sedative, it's main chemical constituent of limonene, gives it it's characterisitic sunny scent.
